I’ve always loved the modernist style that was popular around Perth in the 1960’s. Imagine how excited I felt when my new clients wanted a home that referenced modernist architecture.

They really do have a passion for the modernist style, and we’ve worked closely on all aspects of the project. This included close consultation about the textures of the poured concrete.

The house has a roof garden and we’ve invited a number of artists to co-design elements within the building.

Winter sun flows into the living areas of the house and there is excellent cross ventilation.

The roof gardens provide insulation to the accommodation on the lower level. They provide an outlook and privacy to both the occupants of the house and the neighbours.

We introduced warm timber floors, timber battened ceilings, pre-aged metals and stone to compliment the grey concrete. We’re after a warm and friendly feel for a family home.

Completion date is scheduled for mid 2017. It’ll be exciting to see all these elements come together.
